Rough Sawn, Anti-Stain Treated
AST timber is dipped in a chemical solution to help reduce the amount of stain/fungi.

Over time, this timber is vulnerable to shrinkage, 
splits and stains. Therefore it is best for formwork, dunnage and other utility requirements.

Rough Sawn, Kiln Dried
KD timber is dried using heated air to reduce its moisture level (to approx. 20%) as well as remove 
fungi and insects.
KD timber has the following benefits:
- Reduced weight
- Better for woodworking, finishing and glue
- Increased strength

Kiln Dried, Surfaced on 4 Sides (KD S4S)
KD S4S timber has all the benefits of KD timber plus the following:

- Planed sides and edges for a smooth finish,ideal for any design work.

- Made from sorted timber, meaning thismaterial will have a better visual appearance.

BS2482 Scaffold Boards
BS2482 scaffold boards have been visually graded 
and come in standardised sizes.
 

They fall under KD timber to ensure consistency, and are available with or without metal banded ends.
